Job Introduction
The Lincolnshire Leaving Care Service was insourced and fully integrated into the Council in April 2025. This is a time of rapid growth and improvement and there are an array of opportunities in the service on our Journey to Outstanding.
The Leaving Care Service delivers support for all Lincolnshire Children in Care and Care Leavers aged 16-25 both in and outside of Lincolnshire.
About the Role
Leaving Care is never easy for any young person, it is vital that any potential candidate can understand, recognise and manage risk and vulnerability to keep our young people safe. At the root of it all is the need to maintain a strong connection with young people and their network and giving helping them to get what they need to be safe, happy and successful adults.
Working for Lincolnshire Children’s Services offers great support, regular supervision and a range of flexible working options. The successful postholder will cover all four offices based across Lincolnshire and into Peterborough, we are able to offer the successful candidate an office base and the opportunity for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
The aims and objectives of the service are:
- To help care leavers achieve their full potential as they transition to adulthood.
- To ensure holistic, early and effective planning for care leavers and engage other services quickly so that any concerns are not allowed to escalate.
- To ensure care leavers are living in suitable accommodation and are well prepared for independent living.
- To ensure care leavers are in Education, Employment and Training and are able to financially support themselves without additional state benefits.
- To ensure that care leavers needs with regards ethnicity, religion and culture are recognised and accommodated.
- To ensure care leavers are good citizens and make a positive contribution to society.
- To ensure care leavers are good parents and are supported in meeting their own children's needs.
- To ensure early input and a smooth transition to adult services for care leavers that will need support in adulthood.
- To advocate for care leavers with other stakeholders and improve the skills, knowledge and understanding of professionals working with care leavers; thus, improving access for care leavers to other services.
- To demonstrate that care leavers are satisfied with the care and support they receive.
About You
We are looking to recruit a specialist worker who can offer, advice, guidance and assistance in relation to housing matters that can impact on Care Leavers.
The specialist post holder will need to have:
- Knowledge of housing options for Care Leavers.
- Knowledge of local and national housing procedures.
- Knowledge of issues that can impact on Care Leavers.
- Great communication skills that can easily be adapted.
- A desire to help make a difference.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.
