Job Introduction
Are you an experienced social worker with a knack for handling complex cases, mentoring colleagues, and navigating the twists and turns of hospital discharge planning? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where no two days are the same? If so, we need YOU in our Hospital Social Work Team!
We are on the hunt for an Advanced Practitioner who can juggle high-level casework, lead reflective supervision, and provide expert guidance to our dynamic team. You’ll be the go-to person for complex safeguarding decisions, legal frameworks, and multi-agency coordination. Plus, you’ll get to play a key role in shaping services, mentoring students, and even championing specialist areas like Section 117 aftercare.
What’s in it for you?
- A close-knit, supportive team that’s as passionate about social work as you are.
- The opportunity to coach, mentor, and inspire—whether it’s newly qualified social workers, students, or colleagues in need of a second opinion.
- A leadership role—you’ll influence practice, represent the team in key meetings, and step up in the absence of the Lead Practitioner.
- Variety! From hospital wards to prisons, community settings, and everything in between, you’ll be making a difference in diverse environments.
- The satisfaction of making complex situations manageable and supporting adults to achieve the best outcomes.
What we need from you:
- A qualified social worker with relevant experience in hospital social work or a similar fast-paced setting.
- A deep understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity, and Care Act compliance.
- The ability to balance leadership and hands-on casework, keeping the team motivated and practice-focused.
- A talent for mentoring and developing others—whether that’s through supervision, training, or just being a brilliant role model.
- Strong skills in multi-agency working—we liaise across multiple hospitals, councils, and health trusts.
If you’re ready to bring your expertise, energy, and enthusiasm to a team that values both professionalism and camaraderie, we’d love to hear from you!
Apply today and be part of a team where your skills make a real difference!
