Job Title: Audit Officer
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Salary: £27,254 to £30,024
Location: Lincoln, with travel across the client base as required

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Audit Officer to join our internal audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in internal audit within a public sector organisation.
In this role, you will help to deliver an effective and professional audit service across the Council. You’ll undertake audit assignments as part of a team, working to professional standards and contributing to the continuous improvement of our governance and control environment.
Strong communication skills are essential, as the position involves close collaboration with clients, colleagues and a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Support with the delivery of a range of audit assignments.
- Engage effectively with clients throughout each audit, ensuring clear communication and constructive relationships.
- Under the supervision of the Principal Auditor, undertake testing to assess governance, risk management and internal control effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate audit documentation and comply with audit standards, including GIAS and CIPFA.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism.
- Positively represent the Council and role model our values to be; collaborative, adaptable, responsible, eco-conscious and supportive.
- Support ongoing improvements to processes, efficiency and service delivery.
Please note that face to face interviews for this role for shortlisted candidates are scheduled to take place on 1st and 2nd April.
The role will be based in Lincoln but you will be expected to be able to work across our client base as required, and travel will be your responsibility.
