Job Title: Children and Young People’s Nurse (CYPN) 

Salary: £35,412 - £39,152
 Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours
 Location: Boston and South Holland area

We are seeking to recruit motivated practitioners with initiative and drive who are keen to contribute to the further development of our integrated Children's Health service. 

 

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.

 

The Children's Health Service 0-19, alongside others support the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across Lincolnshire for Children, Young People and their families (aged 0-19 years) and up to the age of 25 years for Young People with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities (SEND).

 

The CYPN Team is small and close-knit who work across Lincolnshire. They work in collaboration within the team to ensure that children, young people and families can access timely expert advice and intervention on specific health issues when needed. The CYPN team work with the health visiting teams in Children’s Health, Children's Services (Children's Centres, Family Help, Social Care and Family Hubs) and other agencies to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities for children, young people and their families in our care.

 

There is strong emphasis on delivering the public health message. The CYPN team support children with long term health needs and/or medical needs that affect attendance in education. The CYPN team work with external partner agencies such GP’s, schools and other health agencies to support children to meet their full potential. This could include, supporting children to access education by providing support and/or advice on individual health needs. The CYPN team provide information and awareness sessions to schools on anaphylaxis, asthma and diabetes. The CYPN team also work with public health on identified public health topics such as “world asthma day”, “sun safety”.

 

The vacancy is full time 37 hours with the base in the Boston and South Holland area- county wide coverage may be required. 

 

To be considered for this post you will need to be a registered paediatric nurse (or a registered adult/mental health nurse with current paediatric experience) with a current NMC registration.  

 

 To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A flexible “can do” attitude.
  • To be able to work as both an individual and as a team player. 
  • To be willing to travel across the county as needed.
  • Experience of delivery of health promotion messages virtually and face to face.
  • Experience of supporting a learning environment, including supporting students
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of children's safeguarding.
  • A good understanding of clinical governance and the CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards for community practice.
  • To be able to work in a changing environment and have the skills to support others in that situation.
  • To be committed to working collaboratively and in partnership with the rest of the Children’s Health team, family help and social care colleagues to improve outcomes for children and young people.
