About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Client Finance Team Manager to lead a range of critical services that support some of the most vulnerable people in Lincolnshire.

This is a management role responsible for overseeing services including Deferred Payments, charging people for their care services and related client finance functions. You will manage the team to deliver high-quality, compliant and customer-focused services, ensuring that people receive the right support to understand what care they are being charged for, to ensure timely repayments and appropriate security for the Council. 

You will provide operational leadership, helping to support the team to ensure that customers, families and partners receive an efficient and supportive experience. Working closely with Adult Social Care, you will support organisational change and ensure services are efficient and effective and ensure long-term resilience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the team to ensure accurate and timely invoicing for care fees.
  • Maximise the Council's ability to ensure the effective management and recovery of outstanding debt, maximising income collection and safeguarding the Council's financial interests by ensuring they have appropriate security in place.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, whilst maximising opportunities for efficiency and value for money
  • Support service improvement activities, support the senior management in driving innovation and modernisation across the service.
  • Support the senior managers in monitoring performance, quality and customer outcomes, using insight and data to inform decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Identify and manage financial risks, whilst maximising opportunities for efficiency and value for money.
  • Manage, motivate and develop a high-performing finance team through coaching, mentoring and supportive leadership.
  • Support the implementation of organisational change and transformation programmes.

About the Service

Client Finance Services help people access the financial support they need to live safely and independently, while ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly and in accordance with legislation and policy.

The service includes Financial Assessments, Court of Protection and Appointeeship, Deferred Payments, Provider and Personal Payments, and related client finance functions. Our teams work closely with customers, families, adult social care practitioners, providers and partner organisations to deliver accurate, timely and person-centred services.

We are currently undertaking an ambitious programme of transformation and service development, making this an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Client Finance Services and deliver lasting improvements for the people of Lincolnshire.
