About the role
Lincolnshire County Council has transformed its Transport Service team to provide innovative and dynamic transport solutions and embrace new ways of working.
As a Transport Operations Officer you will be arranging the transport needs for children, young adults and the general public using a wide range of systems in place to secure educational, social and on demand public transport needs. You will be trained to a high standard to source and deliver the most appropriate transport requirements for the individuals needs including procurement and all allocation. You can expect to be working close within the transport team and with partner organisations and transport operators across the county. Each day will be varied but the goal will always be the same, to deliver transport requirements to those that need it most.
The team also manages the county’s local bus and community transport network, alongside Sustainable Travel development.
Transport Service's operating hours are between 0630 to 1900 Monday to Friday and 0730 to 1800 Saturdays. Shifts will be allocated to ensure sufficient cover between these times and Saturday working will result in a rest day in the week.
Within Transport Service we offer a hybrid approach to the working day, however you will be expected to work within the office to undertake comprehensive training.
About the team
Transport Service's is part of the Place Directorate and is responsible for the operational delivery of transport solutions in Lincolnshire for more than 20,000 passengers daily including; educational travel, social care transport and the Council’s demand responsive Callconnect bus service.
About you
You will need to:
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact clearly and empathetically with customers.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills to address customer issues and find suitable resolutions.
- Manage multiple customers simultaneously and handle high call volumes.
- Anticipate customers needs, taking the opportunity to go above and beyond by offering additional assistance or information that could enhance the customer's experience or help them in the future.
- Take ownership using your own initiative to find a resolution while keeping the customer informed throughout the process.
- Be committed to providing exceptional customer service and continuously improving the customer experience.
