Community Care Officer Level 1 Learning Disabilities team (two posts)

Job Introduction

We are delighted to offer two full time post for the role of Community Care Officer, CCO, within our Boston / Skegness Learning Disabilities team.

A Community Care Officer (CCO) plays a vital role in supporting adults with care and support needs, ensuring they receive the right support to live as independently as possible. This role is central to delivering statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, focusing on person-centred, strengths-based approaches. 

About the role

You will manage an allocated caseload that includes both non-complex and complex cases. Working in a person-centred, strengths-based approach, you will complete Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews in line with the Care Act, focusing on what individuals can do rather than what they cannot do. You will work collaboratively with the people we support and their families to promote independence and wellbeing.

Our goal is to help people achieve their aspirations, whether that’s gaining employment, accessing their community, or moving into their own home. We aim to remove barriers and overcome challenges so individuals can reach their full potential.

You must be able to travel efficiently within reasonable timescales to meet service requirements.  This may include responding to unplanned visits at short notice, which could involve travel outside the local area or county.
 Mileage expenses are reimbursed for travel from the office to appointments.

Our core office hours are 08:45–17:15 (Mon-Thu), 08:45–16:45 (Fri). We work a mixture of home based and office working: currently we work from offices at a minimum of two days per week, however, there will be a requirement to be in the office when required to meet the needs of the service.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.

Fluency Duty 

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
