Job Introduction
Lincolnshire County Council Adult Care is looking for a Community Care Officer to work in our team in Boston. This is an excellent opportunity to further your career in social care and gain invaluable experience within a highly professional Adult Care Team.
You will determine people’s eligibility for support in accordance with the Care Act 2014; and where a persons’ needs cannot be fully met without statutory support you will arrange appropriate cost-effective packages of support. You will be explaining about the cost of care and making referrals for financial assessment to determine how much LCC can assist with these costs to support people in a timely manner.
We support hybrid working and our technology platform and equipment will enable you to connect and collaborate remotely. You will need good internet connectivity, and we will discuss and support with this if needed during the recruitment Process
Boston will your nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. You will also need to be able to visit people in both the urban and surrounding rural areas, for which mileage will be paid.
About You
You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; be a good listener, and know when to demonstrate professional curiosity.
You will be able to carry out strengths-based Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews. You will focus on what the person can do & what support networks are available to them rather than how their limitations restrict them. You will work maximize people’s independence.
You will be able to work autonomously and also be part of a team, you will be both willing to share your knowledge and learn from others.
You will have excellent time management skills and be able to write clear and timely case records.
You will have a basic understanding of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and will be willing to learn more about the importance of legislation in your role.
About the team
The Adult Care team is made up of both qualified and unqualified workers, with a wide range of skills and experience. The team base is at the Municipal Buildings at Boston. Whilst our more formal team meetings are face to face, we also stay together as a team and regularly meet virtually. The team is very welcoming, and inclusive all team members valued for their own strengths.
