County Interim Home Tuition Team: Team Leader

Are you passionate about providing high-quality education to children and young people without a school place? The County Interim Home Tuition Team is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to manage and coordinate our use of Alternative Providers, ensuring exceptional teaching and learning experiences.


About the Role

The County Interim Home Tuition Team provides tuition to children and young people who are without a school place. The role of the Team Leader will be to lead, co-ordinate and manage the services use of Alternative Providers (AP). This will include promoting and ensuring the delivery  of high quality teaching and learning experiences for Children and Young People who come under the remit of the County Interim Home Tuition Team

The post will be offered on a Full Time basis of 32 hours per week on Teachers' Terms and Conditions and will attract a minimum TLR2 allowance. The contract will be fixed term for 12-18 months. Length of contract will be dependent upon the successful candidates agreed start date. 

The successful candidates time will be predominantly as a management role supporting the service use of  external Alternative Providers and supporting internal tutors. The successful candidate will be required to work alongside the Interim Home Tuition Co-ordinator, current Team Leaders and the services Strategic Lead. There may also be the opportunity for direct teaching of the children and young People who come under the remit of the County Interim Home Tuition Team as time allows. 

A key part of the role will be to organise, monitor and  manage the services use of unregulated alternative providers. This will include ensuring the delivery of education is of good quality and meets service needs, vetting new suppliers for suitability and having regular contact with both service users and AP's. Management duties may also include conducting  appraisal and teaching observations of team members, ensuring consistency and high quality training in the development of the County Interim Home Tuition Team's teaching and learning strategies.

About You

We are looking for individuals with excellent leadership skills and a thorough knowledge of the Unattached Teacher Appraisal Procedure

Qualified Teacher Status is essential and it would be expected that the successful candidate is post Threshold of the Teacher's Threshold Progression.

A thorough knowledge of the Teacher Standards in the key areas and an ability to adapt this to suit the County Interim Home Tuition Team, taking into account the guidance for 'unattached teachers', will be essential.
