Events Officer, Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority
Grade 10, £42,839 to £47,181
Location: Lincoln (office-based)
Close date: January 25th 2026
Interviews: w/c February 9th 2026
Are you an experienced events professional who can turn strategic ambitions into memorable, high impact experiences for businesses and communities alike? This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in how the new Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority tells its story across the county, in Westminster and on the national stage.
About the role
As our Events Officer you will lead the development, planning and delivery of a diverse portfolio of events that support the Mayor’s priorities and the wider strategic aims of the Combined County Authority. This will include high profile business events and exhibitions, trade fairs, parliamentary launches and public events that showcase Greater Lincolnshire as a place to live, work and invest.
Working as part of the Communications Team, you will develop event concepts with the Mayor and Senior Leadership Team, turn these into clear project plans and then see them through to flawless delivery. You will manage end to end logistics, from venue sourcing, contract negotiation and technical requirements, through to branding, guest experience and post event evaluation.
A key part of the role will be ensuring that all events meet statutory and regulatory requirements, including health and safety and Martin’s Law, and that safeguarding is appropriately considered for the audience and setting. You will also be responsible for managing event budgets, securing sponsorship where appropriate, and demonstrating value for money and impact across the programme.
You will work across teams and with a wide range of partners, including businesses, skills providers, anchor institutions, community representatives and elected members, to ensure our events are aligned to regeneration and economic development priorities and deliver measurable outcomes.
About you
You will bring substantial experience of designing and delivering successful events, in a place marketing, economic development or regeneration context. You will be comfortable leading on multiple projects at once, often to tight timescales, and will have well developed project management skills that keep people, budgets and logistics on track.
You will have:
An appropriate professional qualification or equivalent experience at degree level, for example in marketing, communications, events or a related field
In depth knowledge of events for employers, investors, skills sectors and associated stakeholders, including how events can support inward investment, profile raising and community engagement
Strong understanding of national and local economic development and regeneration policy, and how events can support these agendas
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, with the confidence to work positively with senior politicians, private sector leaders, partners and suppliers
The ability to present to groups, lead meetings and ensure discussions lead to clear, productive outcomes
Experience of managing and reporting on revenue budgets, including forecasting, monitoring and achieving value for money
You will be politically and commercially astute, comfortable representing the Combined County Authority at local, regional and national events, and confident acting as an ambassador for Greater Lincolnshire. The role will require some travel across the county and occasionally within the UK to deliver and support events.
What we offer
In return, you will join a friendly and ambitious team at a pivotal moment for Greater Lincolnshire. You will have the opportunity to shape a new events portfolio from the ground up, work closely with the Mayor and senior leaders, and see the direct impact of your work on our businesses, communities and wider economy.
You will benefit from a competitive salary at Grade 10 and a comprehensive range of employee benefits and development opportunities.
