The team
Our Information Assurance team are looking to recruit a assured, creative and adaptable Information Governance Officer. This role would suit someone with excellent communication skills and of course previous experience in a similar role.
The Information Assurance team consists of 12 staff covering 3 interrelated areas of expertise:
• Information Security
• Data Protection
• Records Management
Although this post will be a dedicated Information Governance role, all staff within the team have an understanding and working knowledge of other information assurance areas to form an effective and supportive working environment.
The role
The role mainly covers internal functions so the post holder will have the opportunity to work across all departments and levels of the council, keeping the workload both challenging and diverse. Staff will deliver presentations and promote our subject matter through a variety of methods so excellent communication skills are a must for the role.
The post holder will also work closely with their counterparts in partner organisations such as the Police, NHS and other local authorities to support the delivery of effective services through collaboration. There is also a requirement to complete a variety of activities designed to support the council in meeting its legal obligations borne out of relevant information legislation.
The role benefits from both management and peer support in addition to a suite of tools and techniques designed to support you in your role. The Information Assurance Team is positive and forward focused, we have scope to be creative and inventive in the work we do.
You
Candidates must have relevant experience, knowledge and skills in addition to a recognised professional qualification and educated to degree level. This role may involve visits to sites across the county so a full driver’s licence and access to an appropriately insured vehicle is necessary.
