Job Coach (Connect to Work)

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team, supporting people of working age who have a learning disability, autism and young adults leaving care, get into paid employment.

 We are recruiting for a Job Coach to join our Connect to Work team.  We'll be helping people to transform their lives, working with each person's interests, strengths and abilities to find paid work

You’ll work closely with local employers, and stakeholders  building and maintaining strong relationships which lead to paid work opportunities. It’s a fast paced role, working with a range of people to deliver results that count. You’ll Identify and pursue appropriate and relevant job opportunities with and for individuals, and develop sound knowledge of in-work benefits, liaising with a range of departments and sectors as well as giving reliable advice to people and families.

 

About you 

You’ll need to be self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative as well as part of the wider team with the energy and drive to deliver results whilst establishing this new team. Key to success in this role will include:

  • Excellence in building relationships with adults with learning disabilities, autism, their families, support networks, employers, professionals, and senior stakeholders
  • Proficient in using IT systems including Microsoft Office suite, case management systems, and database management. Ability to maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Knowledge of employment support approaches including job coaching and supported employment methodologies. 
  • Understanding of employment legislation and reasonable adjustments.
  • Confident in a range of communication styles, including cold calling employers and offering Disability Awareness information to potential and current employer partners.
  • Ability to travel across the county in order to meet the needs of the service.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
