If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a legal officer to join our Childcare Legal Team.
The role
A legal officer within Legal Services Lincolnshire is expected to provide a high quality, responsive and cost-effective support to the Lawyers within the team. The focus of the post is on providing one to one support to a Lawyer in relation to a busy caseload of complex public law children’s cases, providing a high level of customer service. The nature of the work is often fast paced and will require the candidate to be able to prioritise workloads under supervision, ensuring that tasks are completed within the legal timeframes.
What we're looking for
The ideal candidate will possess a good level of skill and expertise from within an office environment, preferably within the legal sector. The candidate will have good customer service and inter-personal skills and be confident in the use of various computer applications.
Candidates will need to be a highly organised, flexible, customer focused, a team player and able to apply skills innovatively and proactively. Good levels of IT ability and confidence are essential.
Specific duties include:
- preparation of court documents, including court forms/applications and statements;
- preparation of and maintaining Court Bundles in accordance with the Practice Direction;
- maintaining a high level of organisation within a case management system;
- providing general assistance to the lawyers within the team;
- provision of pro-active and organised working standards to ensure strict adherence to Court directed timetables.
- Attendance at Court, when deemed necessary.
Special Conditions:
Ability to work flexibly and, on occasions, beyond the normal contracted hours in order to meet the business needs of the service.

Remote Working
This post does require some office attendance on a weekly basis, with the Childcare team day taking place each Tuesday. There will also be the requirement of 1 x further day in the office each week, as a minimum. You may also be required to attend court hearings across the week, dependent on listings and whether or not the Hearings are remote or in person.
Your nominated contractual work base will be Lincoln and you will be required to commute to this work base as set out above.
We have developed our technology platform to enable you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity and we will discuss within the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
