Legal Services Lincolnshire (LSL) is seeking a Legal Officer to join our Information Team. You will play a key part in supporting the team, with a particular focus on helping the Council meet its responsibilities when assisting the police with investigations. It is also envisaged that the role will develop to include the provision of general information law advice.


About the role

You will provide legal and administrative support to the team. This will include:

  • Preparing records and maintaining case files

  • Liaising with clients and internal colleagues

  • Gathering and reviewing documents

  • Corresponding with the police and the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS)

  • Supporting other lawyers within the team as needed

You will gain exposure to a diverse and rewarding workload, and you will be supported by a knowledgeable and friendly team who are passionate about making a difference. Full training will be provided.


What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with an interest in law OR has junior legal experience.

We are looking for someone who can bring:

  • Experience in office administration and a methodical, organised approach to work

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Personal resilience, as you will be dealing with emotive and sensitive material

  • A degree of flexibility to ensure that timescales are met

  • Confidence using IT systems and Microsoft Office packages

  • An interest in information law and a desire to build a career within the legal sector

  • A proactive, team-focused attitude and a willingness to learn and support others

Previous experience working in a legal setting is an advantage, but not essential, as we will provide full training for the right candidate.

Working arrangements

Initially, you will be based in the office two or three days per week to support your training and development. Once fully onboarded, the expectation is for one regular office day per week (currently Thursdays or the first Tuesday in each month), with the remainder of the week worked remotely.

You will need a suitable home working environment with reliable internet access, and we will support you if needed to get set up.
