Salary: £25,989 to £27,254
Working Pattern: Full-time, hybrid working, minimum one set office day per week

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Legal Officer to join Lincolnshire County Council’s Legal Service.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your legal career within a supportive and collaborative local government environment.
You will primarily support the Adults Community Care Team, while also contributing to other areas of the Legal Service, including childcare and litigation.
The work is often fast paced, requiring sound judgement, adaptability, and the ability to respond effectively under pressure.
About the Role
You will support Lawyers with a busy and complex public law caseload, providing legal assistance.
Although this post is a general Legal Officer role, it is anticipated that much of your work will be within the Adults Community Care Team Team, covering a wide range of adult social care and related public law matters.
You will bring excellent communication and IT skills, with confidence in Word, Excel, and legal case management systems, enabling you to manage documentation efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone who is organised, adaptable, and focused, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and switch tasks quickly. You will be a proactive team player who can apply your knowledge in a practical and innovative way.
Key Responsibilities
Duties are varied but will include liaising with the courts and parties to the court proceedings, taking minutes, formatting court statements, assisting with the preparation of court bundles and evidence and be able to attend court if required.

About you
We are seeking candidates who:
- At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience as a legal officer, legal secretary or paralegal OR experience within a legal environment.
- Possess an understanding or interest in social care law
- Demonstrate strong analytical and drafting skills
- Are able to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
- Previous experience of local government is desirable, but not essential

The successful candidate will be required to attend the office as a minimum on one set day each week when the team come together in the office. The candidate may be asked to attend additional days in the office if the business need requires it and at the start of any appointment to become familiar and competent in the post's duties and responsibilities.
