We have an exciting opportunity for a young adult with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), aged 18 to 25 years to join Lincolnshire County Council; working alongside the NHS and a range of partner organisations across the county.
About the Role
Lincolnshire Young Voices is a young people's group of volunteers representing the views of children and young people with SEND in Lincolnshire - the group have lived experience of using services for children and young people with SEND.
The post is 0.5 FTE* (18.5 hours per week) at Grade 2, Lincolnshire County Council Pay Spine 3 (£23,656 pro-rata) and is a fixed-term contract of 18 months.
This opportunity may require some remote working. However, initially, work will be supported in an office base (Lincoln) with the intention to work remotely from home or another office base at least some of the time (with online support).
The successful candidate will gain in-depth experience of working in the public sector and develop their leadership, business, I.T. and communication skills to further their long-term employment opportunities.
About You
Candidates will have lived experience of SEND and will be responsible for jointly leading Lincolnshire Young Voices, whose aim is to inspire change and ensure the priorities of the group are realised. This role is vital for improving services for children & young people with SEND in Lincolnshire.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.
Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
Fluency Duty
