The Lincolnshire Leaving Care Service is currently seeking a motivated and empathetic individual to join the Leadership Team as a Practice Supervisor.
About the Role
The leaving care service supports care experienced young people between the ages of 16-25. The local authority has a statutory duty support these young people as they navigate their early adult years. Your role will report to the Team Manager and support in the efficient and effective delivery of the service. You will be responsible for the formal and day-to-day supervision to a team of Leaving Care Workers who deliver case work within the service, and to be responsible for the standards of Children's Services practice and the delivery of statutory duties and responsibilities within the vision of the service. This will include having overall responsibility for directing the work with young people, coordinating safeguarding as well as overseeing the delivery of support and interventions to improve outcomes across a range people with differing needs.
You will also contribute to the delivery of services of a particular focus which may include a matrix lead on accommodation, education and training and other key areas of need for care experienced young people. You will be required to lead an integrated approach to performance management, quality standards and service delivery embedding new ways of thinking, developing and maintaining strong relationships with those connected to the service.
You will provide day to day leadership, advice and guidance to partners (s) and/or work within own area of responsibility. Continuously looking for synergies and efficiency savings across area of responsibility.
You will be joining a team of Practice Supervisors and will be part of the group of key operational staff responsible for recruiting, training and mentoring new members of the team in understanding our role and responsibilities promoting good practice across the service as part of your role.
Key Responsibilities
Deputise for Team Manager as required and support the Team Manager in service planning activities, reviewing the service to ensure value for public money and potential efficiencies maximised.
Provide supervision to a team of Children’s Services practitioners undertaking a range of duties to ensure service user need is met.
Conduct annual appraisal of staff for who the post-holder has responsibility, and ensure it is undertaken in accordance with Directorates policies.
Be accountable for the development and application of practice and policy.
To effectively manage and supervise workflow to ensure the allocation of new work and the effective assessment and delivery of services according to individual needs.
To lead the training and implement specific requirements within Pathway Plans and supervisions including Triple and Double planning aspects.
One to one work with young people to help them understand challenges they are facing, problem solve and build on independence skills.
Develop and deliver training sessions around Leaving Care specific matters and relevant law changes.
Exercise budgetary responsibilities as delegated by Team Manager for each service delivered through the targeted team and ensure they are used in accordance with financial regulations.
Responsible to oversee the performance of all identified staff and ensure their compliance with performance targets, effective use of own time and champion cooperative working with stake holding partners.
To lead on developing and co-producing resources, services, contribute to the development and delivery of commissioning services, including service specification of services required to meet service users' needs for the purpose of commissioning services through contact with service providers.
To have oversight of, and be a key person in, local and regional operational and strategic forums representing the Local Authority.
To effectively manage and supervise workflow to ensure the allocation of new work and the effective assessment and delivery of services according to individual needs. To achieve this the successful applicant will be required to use analyse and understand performance data to ensure effective delivery of services and quality assurance oversight.
Supervising and quality assuring elements of practice undertaken by leaving care workers who support care experienced young people.
Manage the joint supervision and Multi Agency Meeting activity within the locality, develop and maintain multi agency working, internal and external partnership with key stakeholders in order to provide effective services to care experienced young people

Leaving Care is never easy for any young person, and this role can be demanding.
