Job Introduction
The Job: Professional Services Manager. This is a new post within our Capital Delivery and Professional Services Team, as part of Corporate Property.
About us: We deliver capital projects for the Council, ranging from schools, office accommodation, repairs to Lincoln Castle, Fire Stations, Childrens Homes, an annual Repairs and Maintenance programme and much, much more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Roll out the Intelligent Client Function: To challenge the supply chain, monitor cost management, and provide comprehensive technical services for capital project delivery.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead our multidisciplinary team of Quantity Surveyors and Clerks of Works.
- Resource Allocation: Work with our Construction Programme Manager to manage resource allocation, identify risks, and implement innovative solutions.
- Client Liaison: Serve as the client lead between the Capital Projects and Professional Services team and the Professional Services contractor.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Strategic Advice and Continuous Improvement: Provide strategic advice to senior management on improving client-side practices and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Professional membership of a relevant body (e.g., RICS, APM, CIOB or similar) is desirable.
- A Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, PMQ, etc.) is desirable.
- Further qualifications in leadership or strategic management are desirable.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team.
- Strong understanding of the NEC form of contract and working knowledge of JCT form of contract.
- Experience in contributing to leadership teams and strategic decision-making processes.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
