Job Introduction

These are exciting and challenging times in Public Health at Lincolnshire County Council and we are seeking to appoint a Consultant in Public Health to join the Public Health team based in Lincoln.

The team has developed rapidly over the past few years and is responsible for some significant County Council functions as well as public health, which give new opportunities to improve the health of our 750,000 residents.

 Public Health is a Division of Adult Care and Community Wellbeing exercising the full range of public health duties as the County Council continues to invest in Public Health.

You will hold a senior position within the team and the wider organisation, being part of the Public Health Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Director of Public Health. You will work in a team of three Public Health Consultants, an Assistant Director (Prevention & Early Intervention) and Heads of Service providing leadership, management and oversight within the Public Health Division.

You will have an opportunity to work across the breadth of Public Health functions, supporting the DPH, including deputising where required, and providing public health advice to stakeholders.

Applicants must be included in the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists and meet minimum CPD requirements (i.e. be up to date) in accordance with Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body. Public health specialty registrar applicants who are not yet on the GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List/UKPHR must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence that they are within 6 months of gaining entry at the date of interview; all other applicants must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence that they have applied for inclusion in the GMC/GDC/UKPHR specialist registers.
