Job Introduction
We are looking for volunteers to become school governors!
School governors make a real difference to young people in communities across Lincolnshire, and you will be joining the largest volunteer workforce in the country.
We are looking for more people who are passionate and committed to education and young people. Governors support and challenge the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement. Governors don’t get involved in the day-to-day running of the school; they empower their leaders to implement the governance strategic plan.
If you are over 18 and have a willingness to share your skills and expertise with our schools, we would like to hear from you. Everyone is welcome to make an application, and school governance also provides an opportunity for you to increase your skills and experience!
Training, support and information is provided to governors, and governors are entitled to time off work to undertake governance duties (please speak to your employer). You may also be able to claim expenses, subject to the governing board’s policy.
Please note that eligibility checks apply, including DBS and Section 128 clearance within 21 days of appointment.
If you are interested in this rewarding opportunity and have time available to commit to around 4 governor activities per term (meetings are most likely to be in the afternoon and evening, and monitoring visits in school hours), then please contact us.
