Working Pattern: Full time

Salary: £39,152 to £42,839

Location: Lincolnshire, various Family Help Team bases

Closing Date: 24th April 2026

Family Help Teams across the county are looking to recruit full‑time, permanent, committed, and compassionate Senior Family Help Workers. In these key roles, you will provide leadership and support to frontline Family Help Workers as they deliver vital services to children and families.

We currently have the following posts available:  All Full Time only.

1 permanent North Kesteven - based in Birchwood.

1 Fixed Term contract/secondment 12 months mat leave cover - NK based at Birchwood.

2 permanent Lincoln & West Lindsey - based in St Giles and Gainsborough

1 Fixed Term contract/secondment 12 months from July 26 to cover Mat leave - based in Boston

1 Fixed Term contract/secondment 12 months to cover mat leave - East Lindsey based in Louth/Horncastle.

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements of RQF Level 6.

 

Applicants with the relevant qualifications should be genuinely committed to delivering effective services and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. They must demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, along with the confidence to work collaboratively with partner agencies to manage risk and support vulnerable individuals.

 

About the role

 

As a Senior Family Help Worker, you will provide leadership and guidance to Family Help Workers in their day‑to‑day practice, ensuring timely, high‑quality, evidence‑based interventions that build resilience and prevent needs from escalating. You will offer regular supervision, mentoring, and opportunities for professional development, while working closely with social work teams, schools, health services, and community partners to deliver a coordinated and effective approach to supporting families.

 

We are looking for someone with strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of early intervention, and a genuine passion for empowering both families and colleagues—someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, people‑focused environment.

 

What We're Looking For;

  • A professional qualification in youth work (JNC Recognised) or Social Work
  • Diploma/ Qualification in Careers Guidance or Level 4 in Guidance
  • Diploma or equivalent level 4 qualification in relevant subject for working with children, young people and families
  • Two years post-qualification experience
  • An understanding of the importance of good people management, as well as experience supporting, guiding and mentoring others
  • Knowledge/ understanding of child development, adolescent risk-taking behaviour and trauma-informed approaches
  • Collaborative, committed, and motivated, you are a leader who values and enjoys working with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences

The post holder will need to travel and work flexibly to meet the demands of the role. They will demonstrate a strong commitment to their own ongoing professional development and actively contribute to wider practice improvement. As part of a supportive and dedicated team, they will help deliver services that make a meaningful and positive difference for children and families.

There is an expectation that you will work from offices and be accessible to support staff. Some home working may be available, depending on service needs and location.

However, as a management position in children's services, there is an essential requirement for regular office-based working to enable effective leadership, team oversight, partnership working, and service delivery.
