The role involves delivering advice across various areas, including budget setting and monitoring, year-end processes and account closure, compliance with financial regulations, and the completion of statutory returns.

Our Schools Finance Team collaborates closely with Lincolnshire schools, offering both strategic and operational financial guidance to key stakeholders such as School Business Managers and Headteachers. This support plays a vital role in enhancing educational outcomes by helping schools maintain sustainable and well-managed budgets.

As part of the Finance Technician role you’ll provide expert advice and support through our professional helpdesk, offering assistance via both email and telephone.

As a Senior Finance Technician in our Children’s Services Finance Team, you will be providing senior Financial Services staff, Budget Managers and Spend Managers with effective financial planning and performance management across revenue and capital budgets, to develop comprehensive and high-quality financial intelligence to underpin decision making.

Play a vital role in Financial Services by supporting Lincolnshire schools and Children’s Services, promoting financial sustainability through effective financial planning and monitoring to Headteachers, School Business Managers and Children’s Services, supporting informed decision-making through high-quality financial insight, advice, and guidance. If you're passionate about providing outstanding financial support to schools and Children’s Services and possess the analytical, statistical, communication, and financial skills outlined in the job descriptions for these roles, we’d love to hear from you.

Location

The team work on a hybrid basis, with, on average, two days of the week spent connecting in the office and three days of the week home based. This role would be expected to work within these arrangements.
