Legal Services Lincolnshire is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Education, Employment & Prosecutions Team as a Senior Legal Officer – with a particular focus on the School Admission Appeals function.
You’ll be part of a friendly and collaborative team where your contribution will be valued, and your development supported. This is a rewarding and high-impact role, ideal for someone looking to grow their legal career within local government.
What You'll Be Doing
You will play a key role in organising and clerking school admission appeals where parents have been unsuccessful in securing their preferred school placement. You'll also advise on the legal framework around school admissions, providing clear and accurate advice to panels and stakeholders.
Your duties will include:
Delivering legal advice and clerking school admission appeal hearings.
Supporting colleagues in a busy and varied team environment.
Representing the local authority with professionalism and integrity.
Demonstrating strong advocacy skills or a willingness to develop them.
About You
We’re looking for a candidate who:
Has experience in education law or school admissions (essential).
Demonstrates excellent organisation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Is confident working independently but also enjoys being part of a team.
Shows a proactive and solution-focused approach to legal practice.
Has or is developing advocacy experience.
