Are you passionate about skills, workforce development and creating opportunities for people to succeed? Do you have experience managing projects, contracts and stakeholder relationships within education, training or employment programmes?

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Officer (Skills Bootcamps) to join our Employment and Skills Development Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the development and delivery of Greater Lincolnshire's Skills Bootcamps programme, helping residents gain the skills employers need while supporting economic growth across the county.


This is a two year fixed term contract with the potential to become permanent.


About the role

Reporting to the Employment and Skills Delivery Manager, you will support the commissioning, management and monitoring of Skills Bootcamps provision across Greater Lincolnshire. You will work closely with training providers, employers, internal colleagues and external partners to ensure programmes are delivered effectively, achieve funding and performance targets, and respond to local labour market needs.

You will also:

  • Line-manage a small project team.
  • Lead contract and performance management activities with commissioned training providers.
  • Have sight of programme budgets and ensure robust audit and compliance arrangements are in place.
  • Develop strong relationships with employers, providers and strategic partners.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and innovation to meet learner and employer needs.
  • Prepare reports, briefings and funding applications to support service growth and development.
  • Deputise for the Employment and Skills Delivery Manager at local, regional and national meetings where required.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • NVQ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent).
  • A minimum Level 3 Adult Teaching qualification (CTLLS or equivalent or be willing to work towards).
  • Experience of curriculum management and delivery.
  • Experience of managing projects and delivering against targets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience translating strategy into practical action.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of contract management and commissioning processes.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
