About the Role

Lincolnshire County Council’s Adult Care and Community Wellbeing Service is recognised for delivering high-quality support, having been rated GOOD across all categories by the Care Quality Commission. We are seeking dedicated and compassionate professionals to join our Adult Care and Community Wellbeing team as Social Worker Level 1 in Stamford and Spalding.

These vacancies have arisen due to internal promotions, offering an excellent opportunity for career progression within Lincolnshire County Council. Under the direction of the Lead Practitioner, you will support individuals requiring care and assistance, helping them build on their strengths and achieve their personal goals to maximise their independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload with supervision and guidance from the Lead Practitioner, ensuring a strengths-based and person-centred approach.
  • Conduct needs assessments in accordance with the Care Act 2014, focusing on outcomes, opportunities for independence, and strengths-based solutions.
  • Work in partnership with specialist safeguarding colleagues to carry out safeguarding enquiries, always placing the individual's needs at the centre of practice.
  • Identify non-eligible and non-social care needs such as healthcare or housing and collaborate with relevant partners to provide information, advice, and solutions.
  • Develop cost-effective care packages in consultation with individuals, carers, and agencies, ensuring minimal risk and improved quality of life.
  • Support individuals, families, carers, and communities to make informed choices that align with their needs and preferences.
  • Utilize community resources and support networks to enhance social inclusion and independence.
  • Research available services, identifying and reporting any gaps in provision.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and records, prepare reports as required, and provide court evidence when necessary.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A professional qualification in Social Work with current registration with Social Work England.
  • The ability to assess needs, tailor care and support solutions, and build on individual strengths.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proficiency in IT systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and social care legislation, risk management principles, and strengths-based approaches.

We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity, and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.

Fluency Duty 

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
