We’re looking for a skilled and strategic finance professional to join our Financial Services team at Lincolnshire County Council as a Strategic Finance Manager.

This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with senior leaders, commissioners, and service managers to influence financial strategy, provide expert technical advice, and shape decisions that support Lincolnshire’s future sustainability.

With a blend of financial control, leadership, and transformation, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a senior post that balances operational oversight with strategic thinking.

What you’ll be doing

As a Strategic Finance Manager, you’ll:

  • Lead on strategic financial planning and performance management across complex service areas.
  • Advise on budget strategy and resource allocation for both revenue and capital.
  • Mitigate financial risk and ensure compliance with regulations and corporate frameworks.
  • Drive the development of efficient, forward-thinking financial systems and governance structures.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, supporting a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  • Play a visible role in key transformation projects, helping the council deliver better outcomes for our residents.

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a confident and collaborative leader with:

  • A CCAB/CIMA qualification and substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (CIPFA, IFRS).
  • The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • A track record of providing trusted advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing financial planning and control at scale.
  • Excellent analytical, people management, and project leadership skills.
