The Role
As a Strategic Finance Manager, you will build relationships to deliver effective strategic financial planning and performance management, assessing financial risk and influencing actions to mitigate the risk across the diverse range of activities/services.
You will create and continuously evolve a sound and compliant financial control environment to ensure the effective management of resources in accordance with statute, the rules and regulations of the Council and the commissioning strategies.
Through use of influencing skills, and the provision of evidence based, technical financial advice and guidance, you will contribute to the delivery of services within the financial resource available, presenting options to resolve problems, minimise risk and exploit opportunities.
You will use your excellent technical and people skills and your extensive experience to create, structure and oversee delivery of opportunities for implementing alternative service solutions, maximising the benefits and efficiencies to the council and delivering the best outcomes for the people and place of Lincolnshire.
The Candidate
To succeed in this role, you will have a blend of excellent technical and people skills and a passion for continued professional development. You will demonstrate excellent leadership skills with experience of creating a learning environment to encourage continuous improvement. Your ability to listen, interpret, influence, and challenge respectfully means that colleagues see you as trusted partner and involve you in supporting them to drive their services forward.
The successful candidate will be experienced in balancing multiple responsibilities, prioritising based on urgency and service/customer need adapting quickly to the changing environment.
You will hold a CCAB/CIMA qualification. You will be able to think innovatively and utilise your expert analytical skills to methodically breakdown complex financial problems and articulate potential solutions clearly and without jargon.
You will be a role model, reflecting the Councils values and behaviours, helping the team to develop in a dynamic environment and to respond positively and creatively to changing expectations
Location
The team work on a hybrid basis, with, on average, two days of the week spent connecting in the office and three days of the week home based. This role would be expected to work within these arrangements.
