Job Title: Victim Liaison Officer

Working Pattern: 1 x Full-time position available. 

Salary: £32,597 - £35,412

Location: Some flexibility with regard to office base, role will involve countywide working.

About You:

We are looking to recruit someone with an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) and with Youth Justice or victim focussed experience. You must be highly motivated to work with the victims of offences committed by children.

Victim Liaison Officers (VLOs) within the Future4Me team play a vital role in ensuring victims are supported and that their views and voice are heard and embedded within decision making and assessment processes within Youth Justice. The VLO ensure that victims are kept informed and updated, that they are able to access additional support as required and that, where appropriate, they are able to engage in Restorative Justice processes

VLO's must have excellent communication skills to enable engagement with, and advocacy for, a wide range of victims.

You will be dedicated and passionate about supporting victims. 

About the Role:

We currently have 1 permanent, full-time position, which will involve working alongside another Victim Liaison Officer. A driving licence and car are essential as you will be working across the county. There is some flexibility as to which of our offices are set as a work-base. There may be a small element of evening work where there is a need to engage with a victim who works in the daytime. 

You will work with the victims of offences committed by children who are dealt with via Out Of Court Resolution as well as those who receive statutory court orders

This can be a demanding role however one that brings great job satisfaction.

About the Team:

Future4Me launched Countywide in February 2019 and brought together the Council's core offer to adolescents by building on the Youth Offending Team, Youth Hub and Family Help. Focusing on supporting young people aged 14-18,we have a dedicated team with a focus on Youth Justice, diversion, victims, child exploitation, youth housing and community interventions as well as our Complex Health Team.

Future4Me operates on a County-wide basis and focuses on multi-agency working, using Trauma Informed Practice and Restorative Principles to deliver a package of support.
