Well-Being Coach

Job Introduction

InspireU is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Well-Being Coach to work with individual young people who have special or particular needs. The primary goal is to support these young people in understanding and following the Behaviour Policy, ensuring their safeguarding and wellbeing.


About the Role

InspireU settings across Lincolnshire have embraced the Learner Conduct Policy; supported by ‘When the adults change everything Changes’ by Paul Dix to support our variety of learners, to engage positively within the classroom setting.

The framework allows the Wellbeing Coach to pull on a multitude of techniques and interventions enabling the learner to re-enter the classroom setting and re-engage effectively. You will nurture, guide and mentor learners rather than issuing sanctions.

Main duties of the role include: 

  • Form effective, positive, and appropriate working relationships with learners, creating an atmosphere of trust and support.
  • Provide behaviour support for targeted groups and individual students, removing barriers to learning and increasing participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support, Safeguarding, and Pastoral teams to promote positive engagement and behaviour.
  • Encourage and praise learners to develop self-reliance and self-esteem.
  • Promote student mental and physical wellbeing.
  • Develop and carry out interventions to bring about positive changes in challenging behaviour.
  • Support attendance monitoring processes.

 

This position is based in Grantham with two days a week to be worked in Ruskington, with possible travel to other sites around Lincolnshire.


About You

You will need to be:

• Resilient

• Creative and reactive

• Demonstrate a positive classroom presence

• Dynamic and resourceful in your approach- able to think on your feet

• Have strong communication skills

You will work closely with your team feeding back to tutors and pastoral care leads on the progress, successes and

areas of development for learners, creating individual plans of action.
