An exciting opportunity has opened up in Waste Services. We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Waste Operative to join the team at our Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Tattershall.
As a Waste Operative, you’ll play a key role in supporting the public to dispose of their waste responsibly, while helping to maximise opportunities for re-use and recycling. You’ll work under the guidance of the Centre Supervisor and Waste Operations Officers to ensure the site operates safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental and health & safety standards.
You’ll also assist with the day-to-day running of the Re-use Shop at Tattershall HWRC, contributing to initiatives that promote waste minimisation, recycling, and deliver social value to Lincolnshire residents.

As part of the team, you’ll:
- Welcome and assist the public with correct waste disposal
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised site
- Support the Supervisor in responding to on-site issues or emergencies
- Help with the sorting and presentation of items for re-use and recycling

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience or interest in waste management or environmental services
- Is confident engaging with the public and promoting environmental best practices
- Is physically fit enough to assist with manual handling and outdoor work
- Has strong communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
- Is willing to learn and take on new responsibilities as needed
