Job Introduction
Lincolnshire County Council is looking for two dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative candidates who will offer a warm, relational approach for the roles of Positive Futures Community Sports Workers.
About the role:
Positive Futures is a community-based project which creates safe places and spaces for young people to engage in positive activities, aiming to support their safety and reduce the risk of exploitation and harm. Candidates will work as part of the Future4Me, Community & Interventions Team – and will be based in Grantham and Lincoln (North). These exciting opportunities will allow you to develop a mentoring and supportive relationship with young people, with the aim of using sport and positive activities to support their safety. The candidates will work within targeted communities, coordinating and delivering an exciting programme of sport and positive activities for young people. These roles will also involve delivering targeted interventions, often using sport as a vehicle to develop young people, whilst working in partnership with local agencies and organisations.
About the opportunity:
There are two, part time (18.5 hours per week), fixed term posts available from September 2025 - September 2026. The majority of these hours are required to be completed during three evenings per week; although, time will be allocated to admin and attendance at team meetings on Monday afternoons. Please see an EXAMPLE of the working hours below; however, please note that that this is only an example, and is subject to change in line with the development of our programmes.
- Monday | 3.5 HOURS, admin to be completed in the afternoon.
- Tuesday | 5 HOURS, 4.00pm - 8.00pm approx.
- Wednesday | N/A.
- Thursday | 5 HOURS, 4.00pm - 8.00pm approx.
- Friday | 5 HOURS, 4.00pm - 9.00pm approx.
Our offer:
