Are you looking for the perfect launchpad for a career in data, technology, and public health?

We have a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, future-focused team where you can build a strong foundation for your future career. As a Junior Data Analyst (Internally known as Public Health Intelligence Systems and Data Officer), you will gain invaluable experience supporting the Public Health function in Lincolnshire. This is a genuine opportunity to use your growing technical skills to make a real difference and have a positive impact on people’s lives across the county.

About the Role

Working within our highly experienced Public Health Intelligence team, you will help manage the modern systems and datasets that drive health and social care decisions. The team is fast-paced, forward-thinking, and sits at the heart of supporting both Lincolnshire County Council and the regional Integrated Care System (ICS).

We pride ourselves on being early adopters of modern analytical software and automated processes. In this role, you will work with new technologies and connect with a range of national health and social care organizations, helping us ensure that key decision-makers always have access to the right information at the right time.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious, proactive individual who is keen to learn and ready to develop their skills in a highly supportive environment. This is an early-career position; while we are ideally looking for a recent graduate (a background in health sciences is a plus, though not essential), we are equally keen to hear from anyone who has developed relevant technical skills through personal projects or professional experience.

We need someone who brings:

  • a good level of IT literacy, an interest in data, and a strong willingness to learn and expand your knowledge (e.g., R, Python, DAX, Power BI, Azure Synapse, GIS).
  • the ability to identify, collate, and organize sources of intelligence generated through various regional partners and channels.
  • an interest in creating reports and structured datasets, helping us process, validate, and deliver data through digitally automated workflows.
  • the diligence and care required to manage and maintain large, complex, and sensitive datasets securely.
  • the ability to work independently on tasks while collaborating closely with a wider, experienced team.

We are fully committed to investing in entry-level talent. For candidates starting out with foundational skills, we are happy to offer this role at a lower developmental grade alongside a structured apprenticeship programme. Progression to the full advertised salary will be achieved upon successful completion of the program.

About the Team

The Public Health Intelligence team brings together analysts, knowledge specialists, and technical officers. While we sit within the local authority, our influence spans the entire regional health and care system. We take a leading role in integrating new analytical tools into our everyday work. Some of what we do can be found on the Lincolnshire Health Intelligence Hub.

Our offer to you

The Public health division is committed to investing and developing our staff. We have a comprehensive workforce development programme with opportunities for professional development at all levels.

Our environment is supportive and we are ambitious for both the people who work here and the residents of the county. In addition to a competitive salary, you can enjoy hybrid working, a flexible working pattern, generous annual leave and pension scheme and exciting training and development opportunities.
