We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Manager to provide countywide leadership and operational support across our Mental Health Service. This is a collaborative role that will work alongside three established Team Managers and their teams, providing additional leadership capacity, operational resilience and flexible support across teams to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery and positive outcomes for people accessing our services. This is a fixed-term opportunity for up to 12 months.


About the role

As a Team Manager within the Mental Health Service, you will provide leadership, oversight and practice support across multiple teams, helping to drive performance, quality assurance, workforce development and service improvement. Acting as a flexible resource, you will support priorities across the service, contribute to the implementation of key projects and service developments, and help maintain continuity during periods of change, increased demand or absence. Working closely with operational managers and key partners, you will promote strengths-based practice, effective risk management and person-centred approaches that deliver positive outcomes for individuals accessing support.


Key responsibilities  

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of social care professionals and Advanced Practitioners.
  • Promote innovative, strengths-based approaches that support adults with Mental Health to live fulfilled and independent lives. Provide oversight and decision-making for complex cases, safeguarding enquiries, risk management, and legal processes.  
  • Ensure assessments, reviews, support planning, and interventions are delivered to a consistently high standard.    
  • Support staff development through supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.   
  • Drive continuous service improvement, quality assurance, and excellent practice standards.    
  • Build and maintain positive partnerships with health colleagues, providers, families, and community networks.   
  • Manage resources effectively and contribute to the strategic development of Mental Health services across the county.

About you

We're looking for an experienced and compassionate leader who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for adults with Mental Health.


Essential Requirements

  • Professional in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing with current registration (HCPC/NMC).  
  • A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience within health or adult social care.
  • Experience of leading, supervising, or managing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of legislation relating to adult social care, safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, Care Act, and associated statutory frameworks.  
  • Experience managing complex cases and promoting positive risk-taking.
  • Excellent communication, partnership-building, and problem-solving skills.

You will be given a nominated contractual work base and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary.  Working arrangements regarding hybrid working will be discussed as part of the appointment process.
