Visitor Experience Team Leader

Job Introduction

About the Role

Lincoln Castle is an award-winning heritage visitor attraction and we’re looking for a proactive and highly organised Visitor Experience Team Leader to oversee our cleaning, buildings and grounds teams.

If you’re someone who notices the details, leads by example, and wants to help others do their best while maintaining a historic site of national importance, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a hands-on leadership role that blends operational oversight with a strong focus on presentation, safety, and visitor experience. You will ensure that the Castle, its grounds, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, creating a safe, welcoming, and well-presented environment for every guest.

You’ll be part of the wider site management team, supporting the daily operation of the Castle and deputising for the Visitor Experience Manager when required. Your primary focus, however, will be leading the cleaning and buildings and grounds teams to deliver excellence across all aspects of facilities management and visitor-facing spaces.

This role operates on a rota system covering 37 hours per week, including some evening and weekend shifts to ensure our visitors have the best experience at Lincoln Castle.

About You

You’ll be a natural team leader who enjoys working with people and takes pride in high standards. You’ll be calm under pressure, confident coordinating multiple priorities and committed to maintaining a historic site of national importance.

Experience in facilities, site supervision or team leadership would be beneficial, but most importantly you’ll bring a positive attitude, reliability and a genuine commitment to delivering an outstanding visitor experience.

Above all else, you will ensure that every visitor experiences a Castle that is safe, clean, welcoming and ready to be enjoyed — encouraging them to return time and time again.
