Job Introduction
Are you passionate about heritage, safety, and public service? Lincolnshire Archives are looking for two dedicated and professional individuals to join our team as Heritage Security & Site Operations Officers—one full-time (37 hours pw) and one part-time (18.25 hours pw). These roles are vital in ensuring the safety, security, and smooth operation of some of Lincolnshire’s most treasured heritage sites.
About the Role
As a Heritage Security & Site Operations Officer, you will play a key role in safeguarding our historic buildings, collections, and visitors. You’ll be responsible for:
- Conducting regular indoor and outdoor patrols at Lincolnshire Archives. There may be a possibility of also working across our other heritage sites, should there be an operational need.
- Responding to security incidents and emergencies with professionalism and calm.
- Monitoring and managing access to restricted areas, and supervising contractors.
- Supporting visitor experience by providing directions and ensuring a welcoming, safe environment.
- Performing essential site operations such as compliance checks, keyholding, and basic maintenance.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking individuals who are:
- Professional and flexible, with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as part of a call-out rota.
- Customer-focused, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit, as the role involves significant walking and rapid response to incidents.
- Security-conscious, ideally with an SIA licence (or willingness to train), and a strong understanding of safety protocols.
Essential Requirements
- Aged 18 or over with the legal right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to undertake First Aid and SIA training if not already qualified.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions quickly.
- A commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and visitor care.
