Senior Youth & Community Development Worker - Lincoln & West Lindsey

About the Role:

As a Senior Youth & Community Development Worker, you will lead a dedicated team of Youth Workers delivering high-quality, inclusive services for young people aged 8–18 across Lincoln and West Lindsey. Your role will be pivotal in shaping and overseeing a range of youth engagement programmes, with a strong focus on early intervention, personal development, and community cohesion.

You will manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of youth provision, including open-access sessions, targeted interventions, one-to-one support, outreach, and holiday activities. A key part of your role will be supporting young people—particularly those at risk of antisocial behaviour or entering the criminal justice system—to make positive life choices and develop the skills they need to thrive.

Flexibility is essential, as the role involves working some evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the community. You will also play a strategic role in developing local partnerships and ensuring services are responsive, inclusive, and impactful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Line manage and support a team of Youth Workers.
  • Lead the design and delivery of youth programmes that promote engagement, learning, and personal growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate service delivery to ensure high standards and measurable outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with local partners, schools, and community organisations.
  • Champion safeguarding, inclusion, and youth voice in all aspects of service delivery.

About You:

You are a dynamic and experienced youth work professional with a passion for empowering young people. You bring strong leadership skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, youth-led services.

  • Proven experience in youth and community work, ideally with a JNC-recognised qualification.
  • Experience managing or supervising staff or volunteers in a youth work setting.
  • Skilled in engaging young people from diverse backgrounds, including those facing complex challenges.
  • Confident in planning, delivering, and evaluating youth programmes and interventions.
  • A reflective practitioner who is adaptable, creative, and responsive to young people’s needs.
  • Proven ability to work with others in the development and delivery of services
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, youth participation, and current youth culture.
